Arogi Foundation Teams Up With HEADFORTH Foundation for Justice
Arogi team joined HEADFORTH Foundation for Justice on 3oth November 2024 at the City of Abeokuta to address the mental health need of the rape survivors numbering over 400. In addition, various other concerns and needs were addressed including extending to them the opportunity of free legal support.
Arogi team which comprised Dr Adedeji, Dr Abimbola, and Dr Itunu arrived at the program venue at 10:40 am. We had a very brief lateness of 10 minutes and this was attributed to the fact that one of the team members was arrested by the task force at Ojota Bus Stop for crossing the road by leg rather than using the pedestrian bridge. This earned us a delay and a fine of N10,000 naira.
At the event, we participated in the questions and answers panel session and Dr Itunu ably represented Arogi, answering questions from the audience with relevant evidence-based responses.
Sequel to the questions and answers panel session, a counseling session was opened for the individuals who may need counseling. This aspect was entirely handled by Arogi team. It is also worth highlighting that we opened the target population to the opportunity of free psychotherapy and counseling services offered by Arogi Trauma Care Foundation. We shared our Information cards with all the individuals present including other stakeholder organizations.
In light of this event, the management of HEADFORTH Foundation for Justice paid an amount of N60,000 into Arogi Wema Bank Account (Yet to cross-validate with finance)as support for our involvement.
We were refreshed and well attended to and at exactly 3:24 pm the team embarked on the journey back to Lagos and all the team members returned to their various abodes safely. We use this opportunity to thank Arogi management for their support towards this event.
