Emotional struggles are a part of general life’s struggles. It is inevitable, and we all experience them at some point in life. Life’s challenges happen to everyone, but your reaction to them determines if you stand tall or fall flat.

 

Often times people form terrible habits and practice them when they are sad, depressed, or experiencing emotional trauma. However, the tragedy about practicing these habits is that they will, in the long run, damage the psychological well-being of the person.

Our attention will be focused on the twelve major toxic habits people practice when they are down. The common ones are excessive drinking and eating, which can lead to weight gain, weight loss, sleep deprivation, and so on.

  1. Gluttony

Gluttony refers to the excessive desire or consumption of food and drink. While many people enjoy good food and drink, gluttony becomes a bad habit when it goes beyond just enjoying a good meal. It is a vice that can have severe consequences on one’s physical and mental health. Some people who are faced with emotional struggles develop this habit and they see it as a source of comfort, leading to binge eating and other unhealthy eating habits.
The consequences of gluttony can be severe. Overeating can lead to obesity, which can then lead to a host of other health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Constant use of these substances over time becomes habitual and abusive in the life of the indulgers.
