The event aimed at raising awareness of mental health and encouraging students to prioritize their mental well-being, and seek help when they notice a decline in their psychological functioning. The outreach campaign which was themed: Mental Health Awareness Walk began at the SEET Roundabout, in the FUTO campus. The team proceeded to the old registrar, six hostels & Eziobodo to share handbills & enlightened the audience (passers-by, students etc.) on mental health. The Clinical Psychologist/Counsellors educated the students about mental health; depression, grief etc., and described symptoms peculiar to specific mental issues, including some of the associated risk factors and psychosocial problems.

The outreach campaign reached about 1500 students, and it was an exciting experience as most beneficiaries of the outreach expressed their appreciation.

Consequently, Arogi Foundation recorded an increase in the number of calls received from some students of FUTO, which indicated the effectiveness of the mental health outreach and the awareness of mental health. Cheers!
