The Importance of Menstrual Hygiene For A Good Mental Health Well Being.
Christ the King International School hosted Arogi Trauma Care Foundation for an engaging session on menstrual hygiene for female students. The purpose of the presentation was to educate and enlighten the young girls about the significance of menstrual hygiene for both their physical and mental well-being.
The lecture, conducted by Ms. Temitayo Olawunmi, an intern clinical psychologist with Arogi Trauma Care Foundation, delved into the importance of menstrual hygiene and provided practical tips for maintaining it.
Ms. Temitayo emphasized that menstrual hygiene practices are essential in preventing infections among women and girls. She highlighted the significance of understanding menstruation, especially during the adolescent years, as lack of knowledge can result in poor attitudes and hygiene practices leading to adverse health outcomes.
The clinical psychologist offered valuable tips for maintaining menstrual hygiene, including changing sanitary products frequently, proper washing techniques, avoiding the use of soap or vaginal hygiene products, appropriate disposal of sanitary pads, regular bathing, and the use of deodorants during the period for added comfort and freshness.
The session aimed not only to educate but also to empower young girls to adopt healthy practices that contribute to their overall well-being.
