Breaking the Stigma: Arogi Trauma Care Foundation and Zero Depression Join Forces to Promote Mental Health at FUTO

Arogi Trauma Care Foundation and Zero Depression teamed up to conduct a mental health outreach campaign at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) on January 27th, 2023. The event, which included a Mental Health Awareness Walk and handbill distribution, aimed to raise awareness of mental health and encourage students to prioritize their well-being. The counsellors from Arogi Trauma Care Foundation educated students about mental health issues such as depression and grief, and the volunteers from Zero Depression engaged with passers-by and students, further spreading the message of the importance of mental health. The outreach campaign reached approximately 1500 students and received positive feedback, with Arogi Foundation recording an increase in calls from FUTO indicating the effectiveness of the campaign.
